Highly recommended Went with no expectations, but... Couldn't recommend highly enough: friendly staff, great service and great food, reasonably priced. (£130 inc. service: three of us; starters, mains, desserts, plenty of drinks.) For old g*ts like me: the food and plates were all piping hot. We used to be resident in Chesham; now we are reasonably frequent visitors. We will *definitely* be revisiting, and have recommended it to our family within minutes of leaving. Thank you for a great meal.

The pub is welcoming and the staff are attentive and friendly. Nice big car park. No loud, invasive music either! We’ve just had Sunday lunch - the best roast dinner we’ve had in a very long time! I had roast beef and my wife had the lamb. The food was perfectly cooked, piping hot and tasty - and the portions were extremely generous.

Fantastic Hungry Olive Well I thought I would try the new look Hungry Olive (previously known as The Black Horse) and I am so glad I did, I tried the Octopus after Gareth the Chef recommended it to me and my goodness it was excellent, not expecting such a beautiful dish let alone to be on the menu at a local Country Pub. I have also been here now a few times for the delicious Sunday Roast at a bargain price but a First Class Roast. The Food is simply Delicious, decent sized portions and at a reasonable price the service is Excellent and do you know what I also like is the fact that the staff cannot do enough for you and are happy to do so with a smile, and for those that know me I am The Famous London Foodie.

Sunday Roast Good but Pricey Desserts We had Sunday lunch here and thought that it was well cooked and tasty. They only serve roast on a Sunday with a vegetarian option so we can't comment on the weekday menu. The atmosphere was cosy and friendly, we had service with a smile and there is a big car park and also a garden. Desserts were priced too high for us (£9) but we could have shared one or had the ice cream option which was cheaper. If you want to leave a cash tip on the table be aware that they add a 10% compulsory service charge to the bill and this was not mentioned on the Sunday menu. Overall good and I would go again.

Delicious food and great service. Perfect! Absolutely gorgeous meal for my husband’s 50th today. The food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. We had only mentioned in passing the meal was for my husband’s birthday and yet they still got some sparklers and sung happy birthday with a piece of cheese cake. The waitress was great with kids and it was an all round great experience. This is the second time we’ve eaten there and it was lovely both times. We had a range of tastes in food and from the fish to the meat and finally veggie food, it was all done beautifully. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Visited with my daughter and grandson. Visited on a Wednesday evening. We all had different dishes and they were all excellent. The staff (and other customers) were very friendly. They were having a quiz which was free to enter and the prize was a free meal for the winners. We were all surprised at just what an enjoyable evening we had. Will definitely be back soon.

Good food at a lovely local pub/eatery Walked to our local pub as not been since the change from Black Horse. Lovely food, Tuna and Salmon were both good, not a cheap night out but food was good and enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine.
